Camera, action!

trip report

"Natural sound is the best. There is to many people adding music to their videos."

Nice weather for biking around Piatra Craiului. Sunny enough, without it being too warm. In the shade it was a bit nippy though. I took the opportunity to test my new 5D mark II camera, which I’ve been coveting for a while, but could not afford. Some unfortunate incidents forced me to afford it and here are the results:

As you might have already guessed, it’s hand held filming. There are no color corrections or uplifting music. Everything is how the camera captured it, with the original sound – including the noises made by the camera belt swooshing as I ran after the main characters. You can watch the HD version on vimeo here.

The ride took us through the Zarnesti Keys, Şaua Joaca, Curmătura Groapelor, Şirnea, Grind, La Table, and back to Joaca, then down to Botorog through Măgura. 40 km, 1500m elevation. Starring Mihai of Mediaş, Paul and Mihai of Sibiu/Bucureşti.
