Mountain biking tours in Transylvania, Romania

Downcountry. Trail. Enduro. Exquisite guided mountain biking experiences on uncrowded, jaw dropping mountain trails in the Carpathian Mountains, Central Romania. Ski touring trips in the white season.

It was an incredible experience! Very beautiful landscape, challenging trails, good organization. Very much enjoyed. Special thanks to our guide Horia for assisting us so well and giving numerous tips along the way. Even though I've been riding my bike for 40 years, I still learned new things from Horia! A must for everyone!

I have done mountain biking trips all over Europe and in over 20 countries around the world from Nicaragua to Bhutan, but your trip in Romania beats them all. You have put together the most exhilarating and beautiful trip imaginable. On top of this your biking tuition and company were second to none. Iulian's organisation of the whole holiday went perfectly. Altogether the best holiday ever! Many many thanks. Mark

The views are amazing, local sheep cheese you cannot find in Switzerland. If you want to get away from the crowds and to ride nice but techy trails it is highly recommended.

The biking

Mountain biking on natural single trails through lush forests, meadows and alpine pastures, through impressive mountain gorges, and along rocky ridges.

Plenty of natural obstacles on old trekking trails that are rather empty: not many hikers and even fewer bikers. Plus a constantly growing list of man-made mtb trails. The perfect set-up for really great riding.

Downcountry, trail riding, all-mountain, enduro, freeride? Or, pure and simple, mountain biking? You name it, we have it.

The Area

The Romanian mountains are quite steep, with diverse geology, offering impressive landscapes and true alpine experiences. There is no better place to sample all this than the Brașov area: our mtb playground.

Not many ski areas around, or high mountain roads. The traditional rural life is still in place, with plenty of sheep grazing the pastures and hay work still done with a scythe and a fork.

The local food is good in a straight forward way, made from natural ingredients, perfectly suited for a hungry, energy-deprived mountain biker.

The Winter

For about three months – mid January to early April – the slopes are covered with snow. The bikes might be having a break, but not us. We are out and about, ski touring, back country-skiing or freeriding.

Fancy a winter trip, skinning up and skiing down the mountains? We know a few spots around here where the incline is good enough the find the flow, with great high alpine vistas and minimal risk of avalanche.

The Team

We’ve been involved in organizing active holidays in the Romanian mountains for a good while. It goes back to the early 2000s, and mtb tours for more than ten years. (read more in our team page).

Some might call it a tradition. We’ve been guiding people coming here from all over the world, be it for mountain biking. hiking, or ski-touring.

We are not office people. We design, organize and guide our tours. On and off the trail, we provide a good company for an ever growing list of mountain enthusiasts.

The Vision

When mountain biking (like with any other mountain activity) we are aware of inherent risks, and we treat the mountains with due respect. That translates to avoiding unnecessary risks, minding the fellow mountaineers, limiting trail erosion as much as possible. We are licensed mountain bike guides, and licensed mountain guides. Above all, we are mountain people.

We believe in a fair-business approach. Our guests should have a great time while mountain biking in Romania, our accommodation, transportation providers should be happy, and we should be satisfied with our work and benefits.
