Taming the Transylvanian Alps

trip report

"Thank you Horia and Iulian for sharing your beautiful country with us! We were all very happy with the awesome…"

Our Transylvanian Alps tour is quite a tough nut to crack. Six days of intensive single trail mountain biking, with demanding uphills and descents. The majority of our guests tend to underestimate the level of difficulty, judging the mountains on pure altitude terms.

Not the Swedes. Maybe they have a special thing for endurance, with their long and cold winters. Or maybe we were just lucky, being visited only by Swedish bikers able and willing to tame the most demanding mountain trails.

Viktor, Martin, Rickard and Elias chose Romania for their biking holiday this summer and we were happy to show them our best trails. Five different mountains in the surroundings of Brașov city, a great diversity of landscapes and single tracks, good laughs, great food and the cold beers.

We’ve had our share of rain, cold winds and mud, much more than the photo gallery below suggests. Unusual for late July, but we all know that there is no bad weather for the great outdoors. Just bad clothing, bad equipment and bad technique. None was the case with our Swedish friends.

Thanks, guys, and keep on riding!
